Please join us as Underwriters of the Brearley Benefit 2004!

Dear Members of the Brearley Community,

Brearley would not be able to have such an exciting benefit as the one that has been planned without underwriters. Having such a benefit is important for Brearley. It promotes Brearley community and solidarity. It gives parents, students, alumnae, teachers and staff the opportunity to connect with each other in a non-academic environment. It gives the Brearley crowd a chance to celebrate Brearley and to support the cause identified by our new head as a specific need of the school at this point in time.

Our goal this year - which is well within our reach - is to have 100 underwriters. The minimum gift to be an underwriter is $2,500, but many choose to make gifts above this minimum level. The gift levels outlined below are suggested gifts only. Please join us as underwriters of the Brearley Benefit 2004.

The underwriters fund a substantial portion of the Benefit's fundraising goal. Brearley hopes to raise $400,000 this year. Approximately 75 percent of this will be used to endow the funding of arts programs at the school, a designation made by Dr. Hull. This includes programs for dance, drama, music and studio arts, with the remaining 25 percent to be used for a fund to enable students to take greater advantage of the rich cultural life of New York by attending plays, musical events and museums.

This benefit will be the first under Dr. Hull's leadership. It would be a feather in her cap - similar to the one worn by Il Capitano, one of the commedia dell'arte characters - if we reach our $400,000 goal as evidence of the Brearley community's commitment to the school and to Dr. Hull. Thank you for your enthusiastic support of the arts education at Brearley.

$5,000 (4 tickets)
$2,500 (2 tickets)

TAX NOTE: The value of the evening is $50 for each adult ticket and $35 for each student ticket. For underwriters who receive a set of Early Music New York CDs, add an additional $25. The balance of your donation is a tax-deductible contribution and may qualify for a corporate match. Additional contributions are fully tax-deductible.
